Cold Porcelain 50grams Cold porcelain is an air-drying medium with shrinkage of about 12%. Porcelain should always be wrapped tightly in cling film and a plastic bag and stored in an airtight box in a cool place (not refrigerated). It can be frozen in small quantities and taken out when needed. Colouring & Preparing Cold Porcelain Take a small amount of porcelain - enough to complete the project. Add a small amount of white acrylic paint (approx, a size of a small pea) - This will prevent the porcelain from drying translucent. Knead acrylic paint into the porcelain before adding colour. Start be adding a small amount of colour to the porcelain until the desired shade is reached. Knead well to ensure evenly mixed. Always keep your colours wrapped separately in cling film to prevent colour bleeding and store in airtight box until ready for use. Starting Your Project Prepare your non-stick board, rolling pin and finger tips by applying a small amount of cold cream (Ponds or Nivea). If using my cutters, place the cutter on an anti-slip mat and take a small amount of prepared porcelain (enough just to cover the cutter). Roll porcelain out thinly on the board and carefully lift and place on top of the cutter. Roll across the top of the porcelain and cutter and remove the excess and place back in cling film. Remove the leaves/flowers from the cutter with a flower pin and place on to a foam pad for shaping with small ball tool. For veining leaves, place veining mould on to anti-slip mat and press the leaf over the top of the veining mould and carefully remove with pin or quill, transfer to foam pad for shaping. Wiring Flowers and Leaves Leaves can be attached to wire by adding a very small amount of porcelain to the wire, add a little glue to this piece of porcelain and press the leaf on. Flowers may be added to stems in the same way. Always ensure an traces of glue have been removed - this can be done with a slightly damp cotton bud. If in the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please email us immediately on sales@thepedlarstrayltd.co.uk with your contact details or call us on 01432 379095. We will assess the best way to deal with the damaged items and, if required, arrange for a replacement.

Items must be returned to us within 14 days of receipt and, providing goods and their original packaging are in perfect condition, we will arrange the agreed exchange/refund. The parcel and its contents are your responsibility until they reach us. Please wrap the items very securely, giving full details of the action required, and return them to our Brighton store by insured registered delivery and keep the receipt.
